1969 Mustang R-Code Cobra Jet

Mark Corich

This car was the original prototype used as the color pallet car for the development of the original Boss 302 program, this is the yellow Boss as seen on the internet from pictures taken in the Ford styling studios. The car was used along with three other R Code Cobra Jet cars that were presented to Ford Management for approval of the Boss program.  Eventually the car was sold as a body in white to Ford engineer Chuck Buchannan who turned the car into a road racer. Eventually Chuck sold the car to the Morz Bros. who used it to replace the 1966 GT350 in the IMSA series during the years 1973, 74, and 75. This car raced in the 1975 24 Hours of Daytona where it finished 20th overall with driver owners David and Richard Mroz.
